I'm moving to Pasadena in June. Does anyone know of any good apartments off-hand? I've been looking on westsiderentals and craigslist but seeing if anyone has any personal recommendations. Our budget is somewhere under $2000 a month for a 1 bd/1 bath. Thanks!

My boyfriend and I live in a Pasadena apt near Cal Tech, and we pay about $1070, and our area is very nice and safe. It's a 40 year old building, but it's very well-maintained and the managers are friendly. It's also a 5 minute walk to Lake Ave. (lots of shops and restaurants). So you'll easily be able to find a nicer place on your budget.

Try looking for places closer to Old Town. There's lots of new apartment buildings there. If you work downtown, there are apartment buildings in Pasadena where the train literally runs underneath it, so you don't even have to drive to work. Just take the elevator downstairs and take the train! Easy.

Los Robles and Marengo st. are good areas. Keep checking Westside Rentals, that's how we got our great apartment.

Good luck!

You might want to check out Monrovia and alhambra which are kinda close to Pasadena. Avoid the highland park area. then Check out Glendale too.
