Well there is what people call "Book smarts" and there is what people call "Street smarts" and stuff that everybody calls "common sense", sometimes people with "book smarts" don't have enough of the other two things to make them truly smart.

"The society welcomes people from every walk of life whose IQ is in the top 2% of the population, with the objective of enjoying each other's company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities."

Other than the obvious, how is being a member of Mensa any different than being a member of beautifulpeople.net? I guess that's fine if you need to be a part of a group like that to reaffirm how smart or pretty/handsome you are.

I think that diversity is so much more interesting and allows for exposure to new experiences, as opposed to being a part of a select group.

Just my two cents...

How can we answer that unless we know just what you are referring to? Have you had a bad experience with them? What is it? We need a lot more information.

Just asking "Why is mensa so dumb?" tells us nothing. It's like asking "Why is UCLA so dumb?". Too vague.

I agree with wolfmanscott. Also, this whole IQ test business is highly suspect, and to some extent self-perpetuating (testing to find more people just like me, whom I define as 'superior'). I suggest you look into the background and history of IQ testing and see if it seems relevant and useful.
