Yeah...I took out my military style auto rifle last week and went door to door and anyone who said they did not believe in God or would not go to church, I wasted them.
Come on...few Christians go door to door to force you to believe in God. Yeah, some may pass out some literature and say a prayer for you...if you even answer the door.
Gays would be welcome at my house on Sunday or anyday and would be expected to behave as any other friends in my house.
Atheists do not go door to door because its a lot easier to hide behind an anonymous face and insult and abuse anyone who does not agree with their propaganda.

The atheists favorite strategy (in the US) is not to go door to door, but to try to pass legislation outlawing "religion" in public. The only way for them to do this is by twisting the US Constitution.
Gay people don't go door to door. Their favorite strategy (again in the US) is to try to pass legislation and also to push their agenda in TV and movies.
One of the reasons that some Christians feel the need to spread our message is to counter the lies that are so prevalent.
Notice that the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion are mentioned together in the Constitution. People may feel strongly that they need to spread a message (religious, political, or other message). In other countries they go to jail. Here it is recognized as a basic human right.
If you don't like someone's message, you don't have to listen. That's your right. You can tell a person not to come to your door if you are really offended; and get a do not contact order or restraining order if necessary. Your home is your sanctuary.
People are allowed to preach on the sidewalk, etc.

Because we atheists understand that not everyone can understand the logical progression of thought that makes for understanding that an omnipotent creator being can't exist. It's like dealing with an Alzheimer's patient in a nursing home who thinks he's having a picnic lunch with a naked Kate Beckinsale in the meadow... you don't bust their bubble unless he makes a run for the door and the Mack truck bearing down on him.
However I'm available anytime to put a stop to hate speech and explain to people that who we have feelings for and love isn't JUST about what we LGBT people do in bed, and what we do in bed is no more any of their business, than what nasty little bits they do in theirs. There are no stormtroopers slapping them down when they're making ubiquitous sucking sounds trying to shove their tongues down each other's throats and their hetero hand-holding and rear-end/nasty bits groping in public... so I think they need to back off and get an education.
Edit: NOR are we trying to push for laws that says who THEY can marry, go to the prom with, etc. either. Push too hard though and you never know what will come back and hit you in the chops.

~~~eliazbeth ,,, This is only one of several gimmicks devised by The Clergy to have The Congregation recruit new members for their Exclusive Truth. New members create a larger Group. The Larger the group, the greater the Power Base. Atheists, in general, are Freethinkers and are not bound by Dogmatic Rules & Regs by some Authoritative Body of Men,,, or worse,,, a single man. We have no Agenda,,, however it is only Human Nature for some to Prosylitize their POV,,, whatever it may be.
I would rather donate money to gay couples who come door to door and spread gay love & decorating advice than religious people. I am all for having your religion and celebrating it but to push it on other people is annoying. Dont you think in this day and age if I wanted jesus in my life that I would have him in it? Respect my decision and leave me alone and stop leaving those little pamphlets as tips when you go out to dinner!! Its rude! Tip you waiter/waitress lol.
Atheists don't go door to door, because they don't have time they are on here. Join the Jehovah Witness if you like going door to door.
Jesus said "go into all the world and preach the gospel baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit." We obey the Lord.
He didn't say "go into all the world and flaunt your gay-love."
Atheists don't go door to door because they have no opinions one way or another.
By the way last time I checked it was not illegal to go door to door. You don't have to open up. It is quite legal to ignore religious opinion or religious anything.
Enjoy it while it lasts. Who knows? There could come a time when failure to grow a beard will be punished by public flogging.
Or free love by public stoning.
Not all religions do that, only Christianity. You'll never see a Buddhist or a Wiccan knocking on your door to spread their religion. They do it because the bible tells them to spread the word. The problem is that they take it to extremes by knocking on doors (or even following people down the street like has happened to me three times this year).
I think its something that should be illegal, personally.
Ever thing that religious ppl want u to go to heaven. They dont want u to go to hell. Believing in God can be the diff between living forever in hell or some place else with God. That is y they "flaunt"
But gay ppl "flaunting" wont save u, will it? in fact, it may just do the opposite.
But ye, if atheists (or gay ppl) came to my door to explain atheism (or gay love) and to try to convert me, i would receive them in the same way that i would want them to receive me...politely. And i dont want me there, id ask them to leave POLITELY
Hey! Don;t put us all in that boat that travels door to door. Mainline religions don;t do that. Just certain Baptist Churches, the Mormons and the JWs.
that is a gross mischaracterization.
Also all the gross mischaracterizations about all Atheist being free thinkers and humanists and such is really getting old. It is the exact same thing that you complain about the Christians thinking they have all the answers.
You sound just as pompous you know.
