It's standard Metaphysics. The "old school" type.
It all comes from the New Testament.
"...believe that you have...and have no doubt...and it is yours".
"...the Kingdom is within you..."
Some call it "mechanical faith".

Jedi is right. As for the Secret scheming to make money is questionable. If in the movie they were asking for donations maybe, but they don't. The copy I have was free and it is free to give out without any copyright attached, and they say to give it. I took it as more of changing the negative thought patterns into positive, and understanding that indeed you are creating your reality with the way you think. At best it gets people thinking about how they are thinking, and that is very positive.

Oh I am sure there is some element of commercialism involved. Religions too, are marketing institutions aren't they? LOL!
I saw it, and presentation aside, found it valid. It had quite a positive impast on my sons.
I am very sensitive to things. Thought forms are real. and they embrace feelings as well. I say that based on my own experiences and Carl Jung's work. He is outdated regarding his views on women, but his work in other areas, probably drawn from ancient knowledge, is still vuite valid. There are others too.
There is science to support it. It actually does take key points from ancient knowledge that I already believe in. It just stripped away the religious context.That doesn't mean these guys don't believe in some divine context, it just speakes to the universal reality that we are all a part of.
The part that has really helped me was the section on negativity. There is an important difference between awareness and dwelling on things. Thoughts and the replaying of thoughts, does change patterns in the brain which intrench reflex beliefs in the subconscious that effect our behaviors. The body has many forms of memory.
That field they discribe is real.
Peace!

~~~ Freespirit,,,, In all seriousness,,,,Karma & Dharma result in Kismet. Example: People always look to the Romanticism of Lovers with a Twin Flame Soul Mate, as the Web Dating Site ads will reveal MANY people "looking for my Soulmate,,,,etc." Yet they don't recognize the "Dark Aspect" or "Yin Aspect" of it's opposite which is found in the news almost everyday. This is the Domestic Violence or Homocide or Murder/Suicide result of two lovers. Nevertheless,,,,Soulmates are soulmates.
Our *thoughts* and/ *intentions* are energy, vibrating in various wavelength frequencies.
Electromagnetic field are we, thereby, attract to us what we vibrate.
When we're loving, we attract love to us.
