You know I have a small lake in my backyard to and some times fish don't bite but I've recently learned the fish are also attracted to baits by smell and vibrations that the bait makes in the waters. So next time try to rub something smelly on the fake bait and wiggle it around while reeling it in. O, and try attaching a shiny object to it so the sun reflect off the object in the water and makes it more noticeable to the fish.

Hope this helps !!!!

It's all about presentation. You are probably reeling too fast or you're lure isnt getting down in the fishes feeding zone. That's for crankbaits. If you are using plastics then you are not working it right. Read up on some sites pertaining to what fish you are fishing for and tactics for catching them.

Scale down to smaller lures. Use natural colors. Fish slow.
