When is it justified for us to use our Military? And when we do decide to use it, when is it justified to change our minds? Should we have a formula that is unambiguous to the rest of the world, that says if you do this, then the US will go to war?

You fight to Win! Political Corectness needs to have taps played over it ASAP! Anytime American citizens, soldiers, sailors or property is attacked or compromised is a legitimate reason Against any and all enemies both foreign and domestic! We have a right to protect ourselves, families and borders. (USS Cole, Attacks on soldiers in Saudi Arabia, the World Trade Center twice was attacked, I suspect bio-terror in the food chain and our water supplies is no accident either, in Virginia) That's in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States. It will be very interesting to see what Britain does if General Pelosi has her way and pulls our troops out, since Iran captured 15 of their bravest yesterday. What happened to the Allied forces?

No becuase times change, wars are waged differently now then they were in the 20th century; and will be waged differently in the next few years than they are today. The Wars were in now arent set in stone, and they wont be won by a treaty/armistance being signed on an aircraft carrier.

The US makes it very clear what they dont want other countries doing, and our allies usually agree w/ our policies. But theres always some sh!thole country somewhere like Saddam's Iraq that thinks they can defy America, and they learned the hard way that they cant w/o severe consequences. Its obvious when Military use is justified, its justified anytime when the enemy is too stubborn to let diplomacy work.

We should go to war when

Another country publicly threatens us
A country that we consider our enemy is developing weapons that can destroy a lot
When a country aides our enemies in attacking us
When we feel a country will attack us if we do nothing.

We have no right to change our minds when we take out the leadership of the country. When we remove a government, we must stay until the country has a new government and can defend itself.

If the other country is threatening the freedom of another country or has commited an act of war against another coutnry, then it is ok to use our military. If we're just fighting to take land, then it's wrong. Imperialism died out long ago and should never come back.

I like that idea of a formula. Indeed, our Congress needs to grow a spine and not allow the Executive Branch to commit this nation to conflicts that have nothing to do with the Defense of the United States.

And no conflict should be allowed to continue without a declaration of war by the Congress. As I understood it, the Presidential War Powers Act only allows the President so many days in which to have American troops deployed in combat, before such a declaration has to be made.

I think the biggest cowards in this country are in Washington. They put their careers ahead of service to this nation. Personally, they have and continue to disgrace our nation.

It is justified to go to war when the national interest is at stake. When is it justified to change your mind? Never, you start a war you finish it. You finish it by winning. You win by attrition not fighting these GD PC wars.

The US should go to war if military bases, assets, etc. are attacked, or if there's a leader that treats the people inhumanely.
