Both certain types of tea and regular coffee contain caffeine. Many sodas also contain caffeine as do special new drinks and many medications, both prescribed and OTC.

Some people have problems with ingesting too much caffeine such as heart palpitations, anxiety and lack of sleep...others do not seem to react to it. Caffeine is a drug, there are withdrawal symptoms for long term users of large amounts of caffeine.

both. a cup of coffee contains more caffeine than tea, and since that is the measure we usually use when consuming either of these beverages, why do other figures really matter? instead of giving you all the nitty gritty, since it has already been done above, follow the link below for some fun about caffeine

Look especially at the section on "The Limits". Kind of interesting. It tells you how much you would have to drink of any kind of caffeinated beverage before you would OD on caffeine. At my weight, I'd have to drink about 150 cups of coffee and about 300 cups of tea to OD. The link has a lot of other info about caffeine as well.

As a rule Coffee has more, there are teas that have more, but you won't get a tea that has more caffeine if you're buying this mass produces Lipton bag crap. And Tea is much more beneficial to the body since it actually contain anti oxidants in most of its varieties.

Tea and coffee both contain caffeine.

Tea contains the most.

Mormons do not drink coffee or tea not so much for the reason of caffiene because we can drink soda or anything with caffeine and be templeworthy.

It is because of the acids and chemicals that they put in coffee and tea. If you look up these chemicals they have things in them that break down your stomach lineing and digestive track also that affect your brain.

We can drink certain teas that do not have these chemicals in them.

Hope this helps.

good luck

Pound for pound, tea has more caffeine than coffee, but you get 200 cups of tea per pound versus 50-60 cups of coffee per pound. Therefore, tea has 1/3 - 1/2 the caffeine per cup. Black tea has 40-60 milligrams of caffeine per 8 oz. serving. Coffee has 100-120 milligrams.

To my understanding, tea has a substantial amount more of caffeine and tannic acid than does coffee. While much of the caffeine can be removed through filtering processes by the respective drink companies, they cannot remove the tannic acid that is harmful just as much as caffeine is harmful.
