ok.... so here is the story. the guy that i suddenly fell in love with has been crazy for this girl for about 2 years now. this girl happens to be my bff. she never really liked him, almost creeped out by him actually, until about a month ago. now they spend every waking hour together (it seems) flirting and just being cute together. now, here is a twist. about 5 months ago my friends decided it would be funny to tell me that this same guy liked me and to tell him that i liked him. (neither of which were true at the time) so that ended after about 2 weeks, and i forgave everyone although now... it has made me think sometimes "hey, he used to love me..." then i say "oh wait... even that was a joke" so thats where i am. also, my bff is perfect. i have decided it. she is super cute and funny and flirty and he loves it all. BUT (ok ok so one more twist) he flirts with me constantly when she is not around. he just stares at me or randomly hugs me for about 2 minutes. WHAT IS THAT? help...

He flirts with and hugs you as a temporary kind of thing, until your friend comes around. That's wrong, he shouldn't be playing games with people like that. And sweetie, nobody's perfect, not even your best friend. You're just as great as she is, and I don't think this kid is right for you...He seems too risky. Get yourself a nice, well-mannered boy and keep him to yourself. Good Luck.

Odd situation, He probably likes both of you, having had a taste of both. First I would say keep your loyalty to your best friend. If she still likes him I would just stay cool. You never know, something may change later. If she is a little wishy washy on the subject, then I would step up my game a bit. Be a little more flirtatious and friendly. Be careful not to stab her in the back. Again, friends are worth hanging on to. Relationships change more frequently and are easier to obtain than good friendships.
Besides, while you are being cool, you might find another guy that hits the spot, and you 4 can hang out together.

Almost sounds like when your friend is not around, he wants to "keep his options open" so to speak with you... or he's trying to use you to get to your friend. Either way, he sounds like he has some growing up to do if he can't pick one woman to go after. My advice? Forget him. Get over him. Find someone who won't play games. Real men know what they want and go after it. They don't play. Hope this helped.

If you can't have the one you love, love the one you're with. Don't sweat it.
