My bf was going to propose to me on valentine's day this year but he said he didn't feel like he was in the right place with my parents. then he mentioned about me asking him. Do you think that it is proper for the girl to propose to the guy or vise versa?

I THINK IT CAN GO EITHER WAY ON THAT.. I GUESS US GIRLS ARE JUST SO USE TO THE GUYS HAVING TO DO IT. also has he asked ur parents for your hand in marriage.. U know he must do that first before proposing to u.. I had my fiance ask my mom first.. i just depends on how u look at it i guess. good luck to u

He sounds hesitant... Why didn't he want to do it infront of your parents? You want your kids to have good relations with their grandparents, right?

I don't think you should propose to him because men are meant to pursue women, and if it's the other way around, it means he doesn't care enough. His behaviour is suspicious.

I personally am more tradional, but i don't believe theres a right or wrong way when it comes to who should ask. And you have to ask your question of why does he want to be asked. And the answer he of wanting to be "different" or "uncommon" is not a good answer.
