I am sticking with XP. I am so tired of having to upgrade every 2-3 years. I'm keeping my money this time!

Are you running a survey, or taking a vote or something?
There is more than one federal agency that will not upgrade to Vista, but that's normal with the feds. They didn't upgrade to XP until it had been on the market for at least a year. They will do the same with Vista. As for the normal user, there will always be those people who have to be the first ones to get something new, then spend the next year bitching about it.
Like any new operating system, Microsoft or anyone else's, it takes time to get all the quirks and bugs out. They ALL have them. As for the people in this forum, I refuse to answer questions from those who rushed out to buy a new computer or buy Vista and now want help with it.

Personally, i prefer XP
the only real difference between windows xp and vista is that vista looks nicer BUT it takes up more system resources to run it. if you have an xp machine that isnt brand spanking new right out of the box, then if your computer has the necessary hardware to run vista, it will run slower than that of xp for example minimun RAM necessary to run vista in 512MB. which mean you need 512 just to have vista not taking into account any programs or extra applications you as the user WILL install
the only reason and time i will upgrade is when the new operating system after vista comes out and microsoft drop support for xp, unless you are a tech or are very good friends with one lol

I got Vista on my new Laptop and I love it. I haven't had any bugs or glitches so far after 3 weeks, but I still advise all to not upgrade FROM XP until the service pack comes out because of the bugs. Still I love it and if you don't have Media Center, and you LOVE Photoshop and all kinds of ARTSEY things Windows Vista is right for you.

I plan on keeping both -- I am buying stuff now to build a new computer to run Vista but will keep my old CPU and Motherboard to continue with XP . Most Vista bugs have been stamped out and fixes now available.

I'm happy with windows 2000 right now. When I get a new computer, I'll probably get one with Vista already installed on it, but that probably won't be for at least another year. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any issues with Vista until then, though. If Vista isn't working smoothly for most people by then, I may just decide to switch to Linux!

I have Vista on my new laptop, I'm in IT so I have to keep up with the technology. I prefer Mac OSX and Linux for my personal use. A lot of IT managers prefer to stick with the proven technology. When Vista was introduced my company announced that we would stick with XP. A few of my co-workers have done beta testing and there is an equal number for and against it.

Even if Vista were perfect, I have heard to many stories about peripherals that do not yet have Vista drivers and software that is not Vista compatible. I'm in no rush. Let "the other guy" work out the bugs. XP is still fine with me and my office.
