My goodness, I thought I was the only one they effected this way. I have hardwood floors in my house because of this. You will either have to put off flea bombs or use flea spray for you carpets. Try to contain the cat to one room for a few days and watch carefully he isn't reinfested. As for your legs, here is what I do. I take showers, but let the plug in so the tub fills with water. I add some bleach. Now this might sound bad, but it is chorine, the same as pool additives. Ever notice when you swim every day, you don't get bit as much. After my shower, I take a q-tip and apply listerine, it's antiseptic and helps stop the itching. After a few days and when they start drying, I use cocoa butter for stretch marks, not the lotion, but where it's actually the concentrated type, on my legs and ankles. Can't happen over night, but you'll soon start seeing a difference. Now if you have used everything you can think of to stop the itching as this is what really leaves the marks--and it hasn't worked... After applying the listerine and the area is wet, I use my finger to apply baking soda. It will burn like crap, but it dries the bite over night. That has been the only thing I have ever found to stop itching. Sorry, but I have used everything on the market and been to the doctor.....nothing else helped. I mostly where white ankle socks in the summer to cover up the bites until they heal. It was that bad. I am now 47, the itching was driving me crazy. If there are any other treatments, I wish I knew and tea tree oil didn't even help. Good luck

Go see a doctor. Maybe they can give you a prescription to get rid of the dark spots?
