I love them! I have nearly 7 million brothers and sisters worldwide, and even though I have not met them all, none of them are strangers. we love Jehovah, and since we are his family, we have agape love for each other...we take courage and comfort in the words of Jesus at

John 15:17-21: "These things I command YOU, that YOU love one another. 18 If the world hates YOU, YOU know that it has hated me before it hated YOU. 19 If YOU were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because YOU are no part of the world, but I have chosen YOU out of the world, on this account the world hates YOU. 20 Bear in mind the word I said to YOU, A slave is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will persecute YOU also; if they have observed my word, they will observe YOURS also. 21 But they will do all these things against YOU on account of my name, because they do not know him that sent me."

It's a shame that so many answers are based on misconceptions of Jehovah's Witnesses. Most lies being spread by hate mongers. Some just passed on through the generations. It's surprising how many Jehovah's Witnesses use to feel the same way as some of you, but upon doing the investigation themselves, they are now among the 6.7 millions witnesses worldwide in 236 lands.

I feel that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion that tries as imperfect humans to follow the bible as Jehovah and Jesus have instructed us. They have done the research into the doctrines and found out their origin. They have cleaned up their worship of traditions and doctrines of men and use only the bible as their guide. They are search for the "accurate knowledge of the truth."

I have found the non-Christian religions, such as Jehovah Witnesses, to be philosophically indefensible, being internally incoherent or undermining human reason and experience. To better understand Jehovah Witnesses, I suggest you review the following site:

http://www.carm.org/witnesses.htm

The Watchtower quotes from old versions of the Catholic Encyclopedia to support their disbelief of the Trinity. But the Watchtower is misquoting the actual text from the 1912, and 1965 editions of the Encyclopedias.

See:
http://www.bible.ca/trinity/trinity-Catholic.htm

The Watchtower’s version of the bible, New World Translation, alters biblical verses to match JW doctrines. For example, see John 1:1; John 17:3; Philippians 1:23; Colossians 1: 16; Hebrews 1:8 and compare it to any of the little green JW bibles.

Jehovah's Witnesses don't go to war, they just let everybody else fight for THEIR FREEDOMS.

10 Million EX-JW now

There are now twice as many former Jehovah's Witnesses as there are active ones with 13,000 leaving everyday.

Who are Jehovah's Witnesses?

They will extol and preach "God's Kingdom" and this sounds attractive, what they hide from you is their blasphemous Watchtower cult version that Jesus has already had his second coming in 1914 and is working "invisibly" through them.

They have won 37 of their 46 U.S. Supreme Court cases, assuring us all of freedom of speech and assembly and equal protection under the law.

The sad irony is that the Watchtower Society *daily* abuses the human rights of thousands of its members. It denies current members the right of free speech by forbidding them to speak to former members, even close family members.

And it denies former members their right of freedom of worship by refusing to allow them to leave the religion with dignity, should they come to disagree with Watchtower's practices or doctrines.

The 'religion' of Jehovah's Witnesses is a dangerous cult that controls every aspect of its members' lives.

Are they knocking on your door?

Funny you should ask because I was just reading a verse which speaks to your question -

Isaiah 56:11 - ... They are shepherds who lack understanding ...

I had actually been looking for 55:11 but read 56:11 first so it has been on my mind.

A few more verses which immediately come to mind when anybody mentions Watchtower Witnesses are Deuteronomy 18:20-22.

Human beings need help to know whether other people are speaking their own words or the Word of the Lord. He knows that we can't discern the difference without His help and therefore He provides the help we need. IF somebody prophesies that something will happen and that prophecy does NOT happen then we know that the speaker was a FALSE prophet.

Such is the case with jws. They have prophesied specific dates for Armageddon numerous times. Each time it does not happen they say "We made a mistake. People make mistakes, yada yada yada." BUT God does NOT make mistakes.

Other than that they are nice people - as nice as just about everyone else I know. But my heart breaks for them because they will be eternally separated from the Author of Life if they do not first become Former jws.

If there is an award for Best Comedy Performance by a Religious Organization, it's a two-way tie between Jehovah's Witnesses and Scientologists.

I think we are imperfect humans striving to follow the Bible.

PS I love it when people use sites like Carm as a source. Good chuckle.

What do I think about them? I think they have the true religion and that they are the most wonderful people in the world.
They are a worldwide family and I'm happy to be a member of it.

The ones I have met are very nice. I have talked to them and listened to them. I agree with some of what they say and not with other things they believe.
