If you assume that a god either has a physical existence or can directly affect a physical state of reality then you are making an assumption of difference which should be measurable.

If however in the measurement of a physical system you see no evidence for the interference of a god, that is if your measurement can be explained by non-divine forces, then you lack evidence for the existence of that god.

Lightning is a completely physical phenomenon that can be explained by natural mechanisms, we do not need to invoke Zeus, and hence Zeus does not exist.

If there is a lack of positive proof for a positive claim (god y exists) then the probability is very high that such a god does not exist.

The quip about the inability to prove that a god dose not exist is inconsequential because the statement "God does not exist" is a null statement based on what we know about physical reality.

Its like saying there was a murder in your town, you were at a party with several friends miles away from the scene at the time of the murder and I walk up to you and say "You are innocent of the murder"

Based on the known facts, I am making a null statement, one that needs no further proof.

But if the facts are known and I walk up to you and say "You committed the murder" I am making a positive statement that requires proof. If I can not provide that proof, then the null statement is true.

If however you define god as having no physical form or ability to affect physical reality, if you define god in such a way that no physical proof is able to exist, then you could be correct that god could exist without being able to physically measure it.

But then things get even more complicated.

IMHO an respectfully yours

No proof no god! The proof he dose not exist can be found in all the child rape,s and murder,s, the obscenity of 9/11 the million,s of believer,s Hitler savaged and destroyed and the fact that every war ever fought was for god,s glory no matter how vile it was And he dose nothing to protect his faith full. But hey you read the sign,s and you decide what they mean.

Its not just facts and proof. It is ANY fact or proof. Even one piece of evidence, just one, would work. But there are none. There is not one shred of proof that there is actually a God.
And if you want to say that the Bible is proof, then I can say thet "The Cat in The Hat" Is proof enough and I will start a religion based on the fact that The Cat story is written down, so it ust be true. And I am going to start praying to him that he brings out these "things" to clean my house for me.

And to all of you who wantg to say "Prove he dosent exist" Thats impossible. Try to prove to me that purple elephants with orange spots dont exist. You cant prove a negative.

I like the statistical method better:

If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

If we are so complicated that a God had to create us, then isn't the creation of a god that much more complicated?

I also like the psychoanalytical approach as well:

People often use the term "Almighty" when describing God. The term almighty means "having unlimited power", yet this “almighty” needs our prayer? That is a gross contradiction. A God that kills first born children may be almighty, but it shows a serious emotional problem if he needs our justification. Something that is not a good description of a god.

Do I think if I can't produce facts or proof of G-d than G-d doesn't exist?

nope

but then again, it's not my concern if others believe in G-d or not

my whole belief system isn't based around how many believers there are

I am not part of a religion that's trying to be the biggest

I don't need anyone else to believe to make me believe

I can produce facts god is either a liar or non-existent. The observations of the universe contradicts gods (primitive mans) claims. You'd think a god that created the earth would know it moves, instead god states many times it doesn't move.

One day I will figure out why someone wouldn't want to believe in everlasting life and a enhanced world but rather think they just rot. When we unite with the Spirit of Jesus that 'overcomes' death and is 'Truth'. Many people have had near death experiences and had visions of light or terror. Go to any 'scientific' site and ask the odds of all this creation coming from 'mr nothing'. That's stats you can try & disprove.

No. If there is no evidence to support the existence of god, then it doesn't mean god does not exist.

Same goes that if there is no evidence that supports the existence of the invisible pink unicorn that lives in my garage doesn't mean that it does not exist.

In both cases, it just means that it is highly improbable that either exist. In either case, there is no reason for me to believe that either exist.

No because you can't produce proof that God does NOT exist either and that would be required to refute his existence.

If you cannot provide any proof of god, or even any verification that the god you worship is who he claims to be, then in all practicality he doesn't exist.
