Your question is not entirely clear. I assume you mean you have a column containing 600 names, each in a different cell. If you want to replace the lowercase names with ones having the first letter of each in uppercase, use the proper() function to do it. Let's assume the names start in cell A2. Do the following:
1) Insert a column between columns A and B and in the new B2 type the formula =proper(A2). Excel will display the first name in the desired format.
2) Copy that formula to the cells below, starting with B3 and go down to the cell to the right of the last name to be converted.
3) Select the cells in column B containing the proper() function and copy them to the Windows clipboard.
4) Move the cell pointer to the A2 (the cell containing the first name).
5) Click on Edit in the menu bar and then select Paste Special from the pulldown menu.
6) In the dialog box click on the Values checkbox and then click the OK button. (This tells Excel you want to copy the calculated results of a formula, not the formula.) The lowercase names will be replaced with names in the desired format.
7) Delete column C.
