does it take to make a kilometer? a mile? i need to know because i plan on running 2 miles a day

According to a railroad engineer I looked up online there are about 40 per mile. It can vary though. between 30-42. It's a rough estimate/

Telephone pole intervals may vary...your best bet would be to use a car odometer, Google earth, a pedometer, or a GPS. See the link below for some easy tips on measuring running distance. Best of luck!

If you know the route you are running there is a site that is easier to map it out that counts the mileage,but for poles ist usually every other one is a 10th of a mile

The usatf.org Web site has a great map-making feature. You can track your route on the streets, and it will tell you how far you've run. It's more than accurate enough for most people out for a casual run.
