HI
No he does exist and loves it when people don't think he is real because that means you don't believe the word of god.

I agree with you however, you should realize that some people need Satan. They need the motivation of hell and Satan to explain their dark side and sick fetishes. They need that to propel them into doing the 'right thing'. For some, God doesn't even exist unless you have the opposite, or Satan. Bizzar..

The Course in Miracles tells us that what is ONE can not possible have an opposite - that makes the most sense to me. However, not everyone can grasp that.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

I guess his deception is working on you- if you can believe there is no Satan then he has made you believe that the Word of God is wrong- I am sorry to say, there is a Satan- and I also pray that you will believe that Jesus' blood is the only thing that will give us victory over our sin, and Satan's dominion- I will pray that you allow God to open your eyes so you can see the truth. Because one day, I pray it is not too late, you will find the Word of God to be true.

If Satan (Adversary, Devil) doesn't exist, why is he/she/it in the bible?

Revelation is exactly that. You can believe it or not, but you can not choose to believe some parts and not others. This simply means that God is consistent with what he reveals.

There are lots of verses dealing with Satan (Adversary, Devil). In one (John 8:44), Jesus tells the Pharisees that they are the sons/daughters of the Satan (Devil). Obviously, Jesus believed in the Adversary (Devil, Satan). I would think that would be enough.

Answer: The bible says what the bible means, and Satan (Devil, Adversary) is written in its pages.

God is God no matter what you think of Him. Satan is real, no matter how much you deny his existence. Your opinion about this matter does not change this truth a bit.

as much as you believe he doesnt exist, others believe he does.. .. I personally would want to be safe in my believe in Gods rules to make sure I dont go to hell...... so you dont believe, but it sure will be sad to think you wasted all your goodness and end up in hell and try all the excuses you can on God saying.. But! sorry sir, I didnt believe.. At least us believers will hopefully prevent that from happening. and if he doesnt exist, at least I know I lived a good moral life..
