Moderate exposure to the sun may help. Sunlight promotes Vitamin D, which is good for the skin. Also, there may be a beneficial drying and anti-bacterial effect from sunlight.
Excessive exposure will make it worse, especially if you get a burn, because that will just irriate the skin. Sweating around the hairline and face can aggravate acne, and heat stimulates the oil glands, which will worsen an acne condition. So go easy on the sun. Artificial tanning should be tried only if a doctor advises it, and then you must follow his/her instructions very carefully.

It usually helps acne, but it hurts your skin in other ways, and if you use tanning oil, it wont help your acne at all.

if you remove all your makeup when you tan it should help acne, what it is doing is drying up your skin and pours kinda like what your acne cream does

neither one' but with a tan it wouldn;t be so noticeable... i have fair skin and when i tan you can't hardly see any of my scars ...i do it a little at a time as sun is not good for the skin for long hours and it;s good to wear a sun screen always in the sun...
