I am 27 and have never used drugs. Sadly not many people can say that. The reason I never used any is because there is no need to. People use drugs to forget their life and lose control. I dont want to lose control of my mind and body. When people lose control of their bodies bad things happen (drunk driving, having sex with a stranger and not remembering it, getting raped, getting beaten, robbed, etc). As a woman I want to always be in control of my body so I can prevent danger to myself.
When people use drugs they are using because they want to escape their lives and probably have emotional problems. I know that problems will not go away or be solved by a drug. it will just make everything worse. Happy for a little while as you feel a 'high' and lose control of yourself, but then later you may regret it. And drugs can do harm to your body and can leave permanent damage.
If you dont want to do drugs people wont care. They will think 'ok more for me". I think not doing drugs means you are not a mental case and that you are adult enough to face your problems and emotions.

Well, I never had a desire to do drugs. Often I've been surrounded by many who do. It can be sickening to see people not be in control of themselves, especially after they've become full fledged addicts. Len Bias, was a good example.
Selected by the NBA, something many young boys only dream of-$30 million dollars.
Being able to take care of your parents and thank them for all the hard work and discipline they instilled in u-$20 million dollars
Girls, cars, old friend, new friends-$ 10 million dolars
A night of partying to celebrate your new beginning-
$2 million dollars.
Trying to fit in with a group of people introducing u to all sorts of drugs and paraphenalia to keep u boosted only to succomb to the risky dangers of your actions and lose your life as a result.-PRICELESS!

TRUE STORY-My cousin once smoked marijuana that had been laced with angel dust (without her knowledge). She totally flipped, went to her house, took off all of her clothes, and ran around nude in front of her family and some visitors. Her mother, absolutely mortified, had to take her to the emergency room, When she came down from the high, she was so, so embarrased!
You never know what could happen; drug recovery is no joke! Stay away from drugs!

Years ago i had 2 friends i was hanging out with and come to find out that one was a junkie (a girl) and the guy really liked her. Well, she went and scored some heroin and i had a premonition that he was going to die. (This was the day before it happened) She was a HARD core junkie and we didn't really know much about it. I tried a little bitty bit and fell out, we were outside and the neighbors saw and called the cops. Well, by the time i got out of the hospital and hooked back up with them bc i was worried about the guy, it was still lingering in my head. Sure enough, she told me he had overdosed but that he was in the hospital and ok, i did not believe her so i went back to the hospital. He was on life support and they had bandages over his eyes, i had to take them off and look for myself and his eyes were wide open. I had nightmares for a long time after that awful experience!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T DO DRUGS!!!!!!

yeah
use me as an example
I'm 43 and have never been able to get nearly enough sex. At least for more than a month or so.
Even if it may have been due to the effects of drugs, its a strong argument to not do them.
Instead of one happy sex life and marriage.
I have 2 that are questionable at best.

I tried chrystal meth twice and almost got crazy. Mad heart beat. Wake up for days. Parainoia. No way man. Don't do it.
My friend and his house mates have been using them since last year and became liars, manipulative, and mentally freaks. Of 8 of them, one is trying to stay away. Yesterday he had panic attack yesterday and was depressed. I am afraid some of them will die overdosed. Peer pressure makes them trapped in the evil circle.
Boy ... in the end our family and sunday school friends are the best even though they may look geek or backward.

Being in Health class at school. We read about drugs and their effect on people, and their gruesome deaths at the hand of mind-altering drugs. One boy peeled himself because he hallucinated that he was an orange. One other kid beat his friend to death with a baseball bat thinking he was a bug. One steroid user grew so much muscle that his arms split. A boy who used inhalants died in his front lawn. Somebody who drank too much was kept in a car by his friends and strapped with a seatbelt so he wouldn't fall over, and wouldn't get in trouble with his parents... he died by choking on his own vomit while passed out. People who used chewing tobacco got their tongues removed due to cancer and strange white mold-like growths on their gums and cheeks. People who took certain drugs had their teeth fall out.
But the WORST was a woman who smoked so much that she needed a hole put in her throat so she could breathe. Every day she had to take the gobs of phlegm and tar from smoking out of the hole. She was so addicted that even after all of this, she smoked THROUGH THE HOLE IN HER THROAT. It disgusted me so much.
Look some of the effects of drugs up on google, I'm sure you'll be just as horrified. The woman with the hole in her throat was featured on a tv special and anti-smoking commercials, I'm sure you can find it somewhere online as well.

take a good look at a burn-out. You know the one - he's the hot guy from high school who used to "dabble" with drugs. Now he's 35 and hasn't accomplished anything with his life. He either lives with his parents or couch hops from place to place. Who the heck wants to end up like that?

Five years of fun, twenty years of sliding into hell. I started because I liked how they made me feel but continued because I didn't want to feel anymore.
Now, eight years clean, I've come to accept who I am and to accept life on its own terms.
Carl Jung said "the addict is trying to fill a hole in his soul". You would be welcome to attend an NA meeting; we're in the phone book.
