I can really recommend Dorling Kindersly phrase books for any language! They are really well laid out with colour codes for each chapter and list all the sort of topics you'll need such as eating out, shopping, hotels, car breakdowns, hospital/doctors! Everything! Really fantastic and also include a "phonetic" transcription for each word. I say "phonetic" as it isn't the IPA but normal alphabet letters divided into the individual syllables with capital letters to indicate the stresses. This is really very helpful and you just have to look at the transcription and you know how to say the word! The books are a good handy pocket size and really aren't at all expensive! =) Have a good trip!
