I've been feeling pretty out of shape lately. I used to lift weights and still would like to get back into it, but I haven't been feeling the motivation. Now I've been thinking about starting small like jogging or walking. My college campus has a gym but I don't want to have to drive all the way over there to work out for a little while. So I was wondering if anybody had any advice for me?

The American College of Sports Medicine offers guidelines for cardiovascular, flexibility and resistance training. The guidelines are flexible enough to allow you to pick your own exercises but have enough structure to get you going when you first start out. They are pretty easy to follow and will make your workout easier and more efficient.

I do Tae Bo every day. I really get into it and I've never been able to stick with anything else ever before. I've been doing it regularly for two months now. It's fun and stress relieving and kind of handy if you need to protect yourself. :) You just need to find something to motivate you. Maybe a work out buddy. I do jog every day, too. I go around a beautiful lake near where I live. It's a good way to clear my head, think about the day, and get in shape.

Find yourself a partner, make a friend with similar interests. A partner will help you staying on schedule, motivate, spot, encourage, and you'll soon find yourself doing the same. Post a note around the gym, talk to people, you will soon find someone, but don't give up, it's in you, you said it, now do it, alone or with someone, feed your inner self and you'll be a happier and healthier person.

i think you should just start with light jogging and after a month or so go to the gym, this way you will be used to exercising again.

Jog to the gym. Or walk - just go.
