My puppy finally sits when i tell her to! It only took about a week!!! Not bad for a yorkie!! How long should I wait to teach her other tricks? What other commands should I teach her?

Well done! Yorkshire Terriers are known for being a bit temperamental. How old is she? Basic commands such as "stay" and "lie down" can be taught now, when she is still young. It's best to teach her everything you want her to learn now, as she will learn it quicker, and be able to do it in the long term.

Congrats! It's a major accomplishment for an owner to teach a pet his/her first trick. all you have to do is wait until your dog sits by command constantly and then teach your dog to sit. from these two basics you can teach many other tricks. just make sure you aren't pressuring her and always have time to cuddle and play!

Congratulations!! my pup is 9months old and i still can't get her to sit only if I give her a treat.

Some other commands are stay, come, drop(lay down) and heel.

Then once the basics are done you can teach the pup to roll over, shake hands, fetch the paper and play dead.
Hope this helped.

you should not wait, continue teaching her other tricks this way she will not forget the previous one . now teach her

how to come when you call her

how to go back and sit on same place when you ask her

how to check the door when there is knock

how to shake hand

and while this keep teaching her how to put right things on right place

when she grows a bit teach her what to do in your absence when there is any emergency

You can train her whenever you feel like it. You could teach her how to fetch, get the paper, roll over, high five, speak, and bye bye when you leave she knows you are going. Congrats! What a cute puupy she sounds.

Stay...say the puppys name with a firm voice "PUPPY STAY!" If she moves jerk the leash once until she understands. Sit and stay is usually taught together so you can start that one now. Have fun!!!

I would go ahead and teach her how to. Teach her how to come when you call her name. If you dont start teaching her again she might forget everything you have taught her.

An important command is "stay". Very good for safety.
