How about:

O God, make the door of this House wide enough to receive all who need human love and fellowship, narrow enough to shut out all envy, pride, and strife. Make its threshold smooth enough to be no stumbling block, but rugged and strong enough to turn back the tempter's power. God, make the door of this House the gateway to Thine eternal Kingdom, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. AMEN.

With love in Christ.

Hi:

I'm assuming that you & your church pray for God to send the people He wants to be at your church. If so.....

Heavenly Father, thank you for the person reading this bookmark. They are an anwser to our prayers. Thank you for leading them to us, so that through us Your Holy Word can flow. Bring them closer to You. Make them more Christlike when they leave today. Let them spread Your Word into the world. Let us all remember that becoming like Christ is a journey not a destination.

In Jesus Holy Name,

Amen

Here is one I like when I am embarking on something new. It is by Thomas Merton from Thoughts in Solitude

MY LORD GOD, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone.
