Yes, I studied Latin in high school, because my mom made me - she thought it would help me with my SATs/vocabulary, but I personally thought Latin didn't help too much on the SATs (but maybe that's just me - don't take my word for it). However, I think those four years of Latin in high school were the BEST and were so much FUN! I wouldn't trade those "Latin years" for anything in the world! Of course, maybe it was because I had an awesome teacher...had I had a more boring teacher, I might not have enjoyed it as much. You may hate Latin now, but you'll probably miss it later (like I do).

I studied Latin as a kid, thought it would be useless, and later got stationed in Sardinia, Italy while serving in the Navy. It turned out that their dialect is closer to Latin than Italian, and my two years there was so much richer because of my ability to communicate.
Latin and Italian have also allowed me to slide by in Costa Rica, Guatemala, and other countries. A tourist speaking choppy Spanish is not a big deal to them- but when they hear someone trying to communicate through Italian or Latin- they think it's both funny, interesting, and cool! This has been the source of some fun interactions with people.
Latin will also help you in your overall command of English or any other Western language.
Not to mention if you ever study law or medicine, you'll be glad- trust me.

I do. It can be really boring, depending on your teacher. But it'll pay off later, either when learning another langauge or applying for something. It's very prestigious.
