ok so i'm 5'7 and i weigh about 165 pounds. I'm 15 and i'm tired of being bigger than all my friends. I have excluded soda from my diet. I also just started playing soccer. I just need to flatten my stomach and love handles, and tone my legs and arms. Please; i need to lose weight before next school year.

Everyone's body works differently, and (in my opinion) I think losing weight is very tough. However, this is what worked for me. Remember that you have to start somewhere.

Besides excluding soda, you have to exclude anything else that is sugary like candy and chocolate.
Here's what I did: I started eating less. Smaller portions was the key. For example, I would only get one helping for lunch or dinner. I excluded all fast food, snacks like chips, and stopped eating doughnuts (one of my favorites).

I started eating better foods like grilled chicken, vegetables, and fruits. Between meals when I got hungry, I would snack only on fruits. After about 2-3 weeks of very strict eating, I lost almost 6 pounds.....most of this was from changing the way I eat. It's very hard the first week, but now I feel it's just normal to not eat so much.

In summary:
Avoid:
All fast food (french fries, burgers, fried chicken are full of fat...trans fats!)
Sugary sodas and drinks
Junk food (chips, candy, etc)
Reduce carbs intake (rice, pasta, white breads, etc)

Good foods:
Lean chicken
Fish (baked or grilled, not fried)
Vegetables (raw or stirfried. Avoid fatty dressings on salads)
Fruits (cut apples are my favorite, easy snack)
Drink water instead of sugary juices

Ask you parents to help you do this since they're the ones usually buying the foods. Also consider getting a pedometer (step counter). These are about $5 at Walmart, and make it a goal to take at least 10,000 steps a day (roughly 5 miles)

Good luck!

what i would do is try working out everyday for atleast an hour and dont stop. If you do stop it will be harder to lose the weight. Keep trying and trying as hard as you can!!! everyone beleives in you and they are hoping that you lose the weight. You see i have fat legs too but im not fat on my upper body. I guess im just muscular in the legs. I also want to lose that muscal and get thinner legs like a friend of mine! they are thin and she is tall and also a cheerleader.

-Drink diet soda, or something like Propel
-Eat low-fat snacks
-Replace icecream w/ lowfat icecream or popsicles
-Do a sport
-Use less butter and olive oil in your food, and wipe up excess grease w/ a napkin or paper towel
-Don't eat at fast food restaurants! That's the worst thing you could do.. you don't know what they put into their food or how much oil they're using. =(
-If all else fails, calorie count. Try to eat arond 1800-2200 (less if female, more if male) calories a day, and only 30% of those calories should be calories from fat (check the labels for fat calories)

That's what I've done, and it really has helped me keep my weight down. ^^
