My Shih Tzu pup is eating his poop!! What can I do to make him stop doing this?

I have tried spanking, I don't like doing that!! scolding. I don't know what to do!!!

My shih tzu pup is doing the same!!! I also found a product called Bitter Yuck, it smells like rubbing alcohol and he doesn't like it.... that could also be another method for him. It's hard esspecially at work all day.... I can't get him to entirely stop doing that since it's not consistent.

Shih tzu's and some other small breeds does this. I know it is so gross!
I have read that if you sprinkle "meat tenderizer, unseasoned) on his food he will not like the taste if his feces anymore. If that don't work, you can buy stuff for him to eat at the pet stores or in dog specialty magazines to him to eat, either "treat" form or over the food powder, this too is supposed to make his feces taste less desirable.
I would try the meat tenderizer first.... it is less expensive.

first never spank or scold a puppy...
what you can do is buy this product called for bid its a powder just sprinkle on your puppy's food basically what that does is work with the digestive system to give the stool's a bad taste

Make sure that your dog has a good dog food. Some of the cheap foods are nearly equal to saw dust. They may fill your dog up, but their aren't any nutrients. Also, make sure that your dog is healthy. Does she have all of her shots? Is her weight appropriate for her breed? Make sure that she doesn't have worms.

sprinkle cayenne pepper or mustard powder on it. dogs hate the smell and taste. your dog will soon associate the nasty taste and smell of pepper or mustard with their poop, and won't eat it.
