Nope, you got it. Lots of folks don't, though. They think that by showing hate, they are doing God's work. What they are not doing is following Christ's example. Christ never hurt anyone in the name of ministering to them. He spent time with the sinners, loving them, teaching them, and healing them.
Some truly hate homosexuals and claim they are "loving the sinner and hating the sin." This is just not true. If they truly loved these people, they would minister to them gently and kindly without trying to make laws to make them second-class citizens or commiting acts of violence and hate towards them.

True Christians love everyone like Jesus commanded. God loves everyone as well, but is not pleased when people sin- no matter what the sin is- homosexuality or otherwise. I think that we have lost track of what the word love means though. Love does not mean being tolerant when sin is rampant in a society or family etc. If you are the parent of a teenager who is rebelling would you say, "It is ok for you to use drugs or drink alcohol- because I love you?" if you answer yes to this, you have a huge problem- if a parent truly loves their child they will do almost anything to keep that child from going down the wrong path. We love them but that does not mean we agree with everything that they do- same with homosexuals and other people who are not following God- if any Christian blatantly hates homosexuals they will be held accountable for that- and I am sure there are some- however those of us who are believers in Christ- must do what Jesus did- He saved the woman from being stoned for being a prostitute- but he sent her on her way with this statement- "Where are your accusers, they are not here, BUT GO AND SIN NO MORE."

Not knowing your specific details, I am left to give some generic guidance. Often merely taking a stand for a Biblical principle is labeled hate. Many Christians compromise Godly teaching so they can maintain an appearance of being loving. They fear the label and so they accept behaviors that don't square with God's standards. The people who want the standards lowered have won. Conversely the one's who maintain the standards have to accept the world's label. They may or may not actually hate anyone. I have never personally known a Christian who hated homosexuals. The labels are applied without regard for truth. Jesus was hated for the very same reason. That is, he did not allow people to define what love was for themselves.

God loves everyone as a creation made by Him. He delays His Second Coming so as many as possible can be saved. But not all creatures (humans) are children of God. Only those saved are children of God. He loves everybody and we are not to judge anyone because today's sinner is tomorrow's saved saint.
Also remember that you can love someone and pray for them without socializing with them or befriending them. Jesus only socialized with harlots and sinners when they wanted to hear His message. AND He never forced His message on anyone.
As Christians, we can only plant the seed. It is the Holy spirit that waters it and makes it grow. You may plant the seed of Christianity and it may be years later before that seed takes hold and grows. You may never see the final result, but that does not mean that you should stop working. Sometimes you can make a difference in someone's life just by giving a smile. Always practice love and kindness. This is what true Christianity is all about.

You can love someone and still call them a sinner. I have Jewish and Muslim friends who know I eat pork, but I don't eat pork around them very much. If I ever became Jewish or Muslim, I'd have to change my lifestyle even more (and not just with food).
Homosexuals should not flaunt their orientation around those who it offends, if they want to be treated better.
Loving someone does not mean accepting what they do as alright, or even legal. I don't hate people who smoke or annoy me. I don't hate naughty children, but I don't let them get away with it.
If one believes homosexual acts are a sin, then the reason to ban homosexual acts is to protect the homosexual from hurting himself (as banning drugs protects the drug addict, prohibition protects the alcoholic, etc).
But, I admit, there are many so called Christians who are also homophobic, who hate homosexuals. Some of these are victims of abuse (one in eight men in America has been raped) and don't understand the difference between the homosexual orientation and the rapist orientation. Others fear for similar reasons, but haven't experienced those things themselves.
It's not just Christians anyway, many aethiests I know feel the same way.

You are correct they should not hate anyone.
Fortunately, God takes people in whatever state they are in when they become believers. So if they are hateful or neurotic, or prejudice God still receives them into Christianity with open arms like He does all other people who want to follow Him.
Unfortunately, in Christianity especially here in the US Christians, once saved or born again, do not always join a body of believers that will help them grow as people to become the people God wants them to be. Fully self-actualized and full of His Spirit,

nicely, except you have been a member of the Fred Phelps cult I unquestionably have a confusing time believing that any Bible believing Christian preacher unquestionably stated what you declare he stated; in those words. because of the fact any preacher that has had any formal preparation is familiar with that "we" don't have the skill or authority to sentence every physique. We in basic terms have the skill and authority from God to become conscious of people who've already condemned themselves by way of embracing sin instead of God. it particularly is Love Perfected for the time of the Holy Ghost that tells us to not make for ourselves a pretend god that teaches us to embody the sinner besides as their sin. If the certainty of God offends the sinner, then know this: that they have been indignant by way of Jesus first.

It's not that they hate homosexuals, it's that the bible says god intended for men to love women. for the relationships to be man and woman. The reason why some Christians don't like homosexuals as much is because that is not what the bible intended. That doesn't mean that they don't love the homosexuals.

Yes he does, but he wants us to love and appreciate him before all.
It's a fact that we tend to love anyone who gives us attention over others. Particularly personal touching attention. Contact seems to be the most difficult to understand. You can wave at someone as recognition, but let the wave be a handshake and it becomes more personal.
A kiss on the cheek may be innocent, but misunderstood, and from there, comes trouble.
There are different forms of love. Friendship/ contact with feeling.
And sexual......contact with intimacy.
With "Godly intent", it is meaningful friendship without procreation intent, or physical contact.
Our website can give you more details and hopefully answer your question better than I can.

define hate for me. that is an intense word with a strong indication of detesting something. I only know Christians who do not agree with homosexuals. So I think you may be misleading in your question when you use the word "hate"
