If it doesn't specify exactly, then recipes mean all-purpose flour

It is just ordinary all-purpose flour ....

well if it's a cake then probably cake flour, it's much finer! And you can buy it in any grocery store!

i think all-purpose flour. if that doesn't help try pastry flour.
