Sure. I've walked 11 miles to work, 5 days a week for 6 months. But the easiest and most practical way is to get in a car and drive for 5 miles.

I ran 5 miles day before yesterday and am running 13.1 in a half marathon tomorrow.

yes, it isnot too far. You can walk or to cycle.
