Just ask your vet. He/she will know for sure. I have heard about dogs having an occasional fake birth where they will act pregrnant. She will go to a safe place and act like she is throwing a litter. Everything that a pregnant dog would do, except there are no puppies. Yeah, definetly go to the vet, because you don't know what her giving milk is doing to her body and don't know if the milk is good for the cat.

We used to have a boxer that had false pregnancies. She tried to mother many things, but the funniest thing was a green toy microphone that belonged to my kids. The dog carried that microphone around in her mouth all the time she was up and about, even taking it outside with her. She slept with it, too. I wonder if your spaniel is just trying to mother your cat- sounds pretty cute. You might do a web search on false pregnancies in dogs, to see if you can get any information about milk production. I would think that the nursing could produce milk, but I would want to make sure there is no underlying illness causing the milk production. So I'd check the internet, like I said, and if I didn't get any help there, I'd take the dog to the vet. If you're not going to breed her, you'd want to have her spade, so you don't contribute to the overpopulation of puppies, and you won't have to worry about the messiness of heat.

I don't think so maybe you should just call a vet and ask them Usually they will answer a question or 2 without making you bring them in. The cat does this because it was taken away from its mother to soon she probaly will never stop.

I don't know about the cat thing, but I hope at some point you learn the name of your breed of dog before having her bred.

And also, learn a bit more about dogs and breeding while you are researching the breed name. :-)
