In an effort to save money on alcohol for our wedding reception, we've decided to only have beer, wine, and one fun coctail, which i would like to be la relatively light purple since that's our primary color. Any good ideas? Please include recipe with your answer if you have it.

Make a kir, a nice French apéritif! It's not really purple, but red, but maybe u could add a few drops of some blue coloring.. (for cooking, obviously) to obtain the hue u want? Serve the kir in tall white wine glasses or tall champagne glasses.
KIR: Dry, cold white wine, and a small amount of Crème de Cassis. (=blackcurant liqueur). The ratio would be similar to making a squash for kids (the liqueur is the squash, so to speak) maybe a little less. It shouldn't become too sweet.
Since u want rasperry, use rasperry liqueur instead.
KIR ROYALE: Same, only champagne instead of white wine.

You could make a twist on the cosmopolitan. Here's the recipe:
1 1/2oz orange vodka
1/2 oz blue curacao (orange flavored liquor-cheaper than cointreau)
1 1/2 oz cranberry juice
squeeze of lime and rime the glass with lime
Add ingrediants together over ice and shake.

When I was bartending, this was a popular one. (You may have to scale it down) In a pint glass filled to the top with ice, put 2 oz. Grape Pucker, 2 oz. vodka, and fill to the top with
Bubble Up or Sprite and garnish with a half lime wheel. I swear, it tastes just like grape soda!

1 oz vodka
1.oz razzamatazz
2 oz cranberry juice
splash of sour mix -you could you use lemonade
shake with ice until cold

a greatful dead is purple delicious not rasberry and has lots of alchol but you cant really taste it i dont have a recipe but u can find one on line g ds are a popular drink
