USA seems to think they won the cold war.
But are there winners of wars, perhaps only losers.
Empire-ism is as old, and unstable as Roman Empire.
Empires come and go, go into oblivion in history books.

well when you win something you can usually measure that or see some direct results.

i think the ussr lost the cold war not because of ronald reagan, but because socialism doesn't work.

it should also be noted that we have also never stood down in a nuclear standpoint from what used to be soviet nukes, but are now owned by a plethora of nations.

with this in mind, i'm not even sure the cold war is even really over...

Oh, for the good old days of the cold war. Now our jobs are being sent to china, while they build up their army. Russia got rid of their criminals. Now middle class jobs are being referred to as jobs Americans don't want to do. Legal citizens are going without health insurance, while illegals go to the hospital. School taxes are going up for legal citizens, while we pay for illegals to go to school. Middle class students take more than a decade to pay back college loans and illegals think they should get an education for nothing. I could go on and on, but it's too depressing.

First of all we need "Empires" or Govts to keep order, and the USSR rotted from the inside from evil, just like Rome. We didn't win, but they lost, in a strange way.

The bebt ran up by Reagan is a matter of record. The USSR ran out of credit before we did. Also a matter of record.

the cold war was a private war, no bombs fell, just spy vs spy, the US thinks they won it because communism fell in the USSR. did we have a big part in it, yes, but as far as war goes, it was one of the more quiet ones.
