I have been using Opera to download AVI files. But instead of opera saving it as an avi file, it has saved it as a ZIP file. How do I change the 3 letters at the end of it?

Is it a zip file? If it is just use winzip or winrar to extract it.

If you're sure it's not a zip file, then you could be right. Some people change the file extensions for security purposes.

To change the extension to avi, find the file, and click on the title once. That should let you change the name. Just add a ".avi" to the end of the name. Then press Enter. It should show as an avi now.

your .avi was sent to you in a compressed .zip file. Open the .zip file and your .avi will be there.
If you have XP, just dbl clk on the .zip file and follow screen instructions.
You can delete the .zip file after you extract the .avi

Just click on the file and then rename it, adding the new three letters at the end. In Vista you can rename just the .xxx bit by clicking that but in Windows 9x to XP you have to rename (or cursor edit) the whole name.
