The civil war wasnt fought over slavery. It was an underlying cause, but not the major reason the war was fought. It was fought over states rights and the federal government stepping on the rights of the staes to be able to do what they want without the fed. stepping in and making new laws that would only effect certian areas and leaving the rest of the county alone.
The south lost, and now the states cant pass laws that contridict the laws of the federal government.
Californias medical marijuhana laws are a perfect example.

The civil war was fought to preserve the union. Freeing the slaves was a happy side-effect, but we know that Lincoln didn't like slavery. If I fought and died in the civil war where would I have gone? Is that what you're asking? It's certainly an original way to convert people.
The only problem is, I would have had to change my gender to fight in the war. I'm not so sure I could have done that. I suppose I might have died defending my property, my house or something. All this is so much speculation.
I'm not even sure which side I would have been on-I have family in the North and South, but this is pointless as well. I think we can agree that the right side won.

Oh lord the grammar and typos. Save us all.

The civil war was not about slavery. Slavery was made into an issue after, but it was fought to keep the country together instead of dividing it. And most people can spell Mississippi, although I guess you can't.

The civil war was fought to preserve the Union. Slaves were already largley free in the North. It was about saying no state can leave the US once it agrees to join.

That's one of the reasons, but not the only one. But I'm not so sure God would judge based on whether or not the person was freeing slaves. Seems to me, God didn't mind people owning other people. Even had laws about How to go about owning other people and what to do when they misbehave.
