I'm athiest, my mom never baptized me. A lot has happned in my life, and a lot is happening now. I'm absolutely miserable. I've been thinking of suicide lately. I need something to hold up me. I need something to keep me together. Convert me. Tell me about God. What does he do for people who believe?

I had my cat put down, I'm not going to explain why. It was my choice. I loved my cat more than my own mother. I make myself believe she's in heaven, so that I know she's ok. I make myself believe God will help me through everything I'm dealing with. I'm severely BiPolar. I can't let myself break. I am just trying to make myself believe.

People aren't reading my question right. I'm asking to believe in God not to get people's opinon on who I am. If you don't understand my question don't answer with rude remarks. I'm athiest because I need evidence to believe in something. I can't make myself believe in something I've never seen. That is why im athiest, not because I never been baptized, I said that because my mother let her kids grow up to be what ever they want, and I CHOSE atheism. I'm only asking to be converted.

Believing in God your personal choice. How you believe in God should be your own way, because honestly, who really really knows who or what God is? Don't depend on others to instill faith in you. Believe in God in your own way and don't let other people brainwash you into believing what they believe.

I really do not think that you not being baptized has anything to do with being an athiest. I was baptized as a lutheren but I am now a muslim. You need to find God on your own. Nobody can convert you, it is all in Gods control. before I was even born, He knew I would become a muslim, it was pre determined. Just like all the crappy relationships I was in back in the days, all the drugs and alcohol. Since I found something that I truely believe in I have become much more at peace with MYSELF. My family on the other hand is not so thrilled. But that is because they have not once asked me about true Islam, they just beleive what they see inthe main stream media. I recommend you look into your heart, and study the three monotheistic religions (Islam, Judaism and Christianity) and perhaps you will find the one that is RIGHT. ( I would study Islam if you are serious)

Every single person on earth is born of a woman. You are Baptized in the birth water. You are born and given a first name. Your Sir Name is the house you were born into.
The world takes this all for granted, but in the middle ages, there were no sir names, this took some time to come about.
Jesus said, My house has many rooms, I will go and prepare a place for you. So here we can see God working in History. Gods theater of activity is in History, hind sight is 20/20.
Religionists spend their time looking forward to the terrible end of the world. There-fore, they are never looking backwards and discerning the movements of God in History.
Never, never think of committing suicide, there is a God who cares. If you would like, you can click onto me as a contact, that way I will see your questions when they come up. Hang in there.

I am thankful that you are open to believing in God. I am praying for you. Has it ever occurred to you that as an atheist you also believe in something you can't prove?
You see, an atheist says there is no God—in other words, that God doesn't exist. But can you prove it? No, you can't, any more than someone a thousand years ago—before the invention of the telescope—could have proved that other galaxies didn't exist. All you can say is that you don't believe there is any evidence for God's existence. But what if there is evidence that you haven't yet examined? In other words, you have faith that God doesn't exist—but you can't actually prove it.
But could you be looking in the wrong place? Or looking with the wrong attitude? You see, as a Christian I believe in God for one reason: He has revealed Himself to us. How has He done this? He has done it first of all through the majesty of His creation.
But, most of all, He has revealed Himself in a way that staggers our imagination: He became a man. That man was Jesus, in whom (the Bible says) "all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form" (Colossians 2:9). No, I know you don't believe that right now—but I challenge you to look at Jesus with an open heart and mind as He is revealed in the pages of the New Testament. Don't let pride or anything else keep you from discovering Him.
The Bible does warn us about the danger of endlessly ignoring God and leaving Him out of our lives: "A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy" (Proverbs 29:1). These are solemn words and you should take them very seriously.
But the fact that you are concerned about your spiritual situation tells me there's still hope for you. The person in the most danger spiritually is the one who feels no need of God, and is unconcerned about his or her spiritual condition. That person's heart has become so callused and so hardened that they can no longer hear God's voice convicting them of their sin and calling them to repent and turn to Christ.
The most important thing I can tell you, however, is that God loves us and is ready to forgive anyone who truly repents and trusts Christ as their Lord and Savior. No matter what you've done, God still loves you and wants you to be part of His family forever. Jesus' words are for you: "My Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life" (John 6:40).
Don't stay on your present road any longer; it will never give you the happiness and peace you seek. Instead, by a simple prayer of faith confess your sins to God and ask Christ to come into your life. Your life can be different—beginning today.

I always thought this was a nice poem. One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:
"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
The LORD replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."
I think that if you read the book..The purpose Driven Life, it will help you feel better about things.
Also, if you are interested in christianity you could try going to a church...but you must understand that you cannot put your faith in other people because they will always let you down. When you go to church you must focus on God alone. Also, you could try reading the bible...but for someone who is just being introduced to christianity it might be boring, or maybe scary.
Maybe you could try and get some bible studies.

You're not an atheist because your mom didn't baptize you. People don't become atheist or Christian due to a baptism as a baby. If you are an atheist it's because you made a conscious decision to become one at some point. If you wish to become a Christian, that is also your decision and you can do that. Take control of your life. You are not merely a victim of circumstance.
Additionally, If you are suicidal, you need to get some help. Talk to someone who can help you.I'm so sorry to hear about your cat as well.

I'm sorry that some people here offended you. This place is dominated by angry people.I'm a Christian that gives harsh answers to dipsticks, but never to someone asking for help.I can't convert you.Only Jesus Christ has that power. My advice to you is to either buy or go to the library and get a King James Bible.Read Hebrews and John first. Then, read the entire New Testament. Then, read from Genesis to Revelation.Ask Jesus to abide in your heart and give you salvation and inner peace.Take your time reading Scripture. There is no shortcut to learning the truth.

I've been there too I was going to jump out of a window because I never felt any love in the house I lived in. The previous week before I was about to jump I had pneumonia I got better I told the doctors I was ready to go home and they saw my improvement. My dad who has always been present in my life told me he would put me back in hospital, it was at that moment when I said there is no point in living if your constantly going to receive emotion and physical abuse. Half my body was out the window when my dad came in and said 'So because of what I said your going to commit suicide.' He left my room and I sat on the window ledge just crying, I knew that if I died no one will never know the truth and that he would win. I was fourteen at the time and that was the age when I found out that God (Jehovah) loves me. When I was in hospital I truly believed that death had come to get me and I was prepared because my life was in pieces but I said to Jehovah if you are real you will save me and I will live and serve you for the rest of my life. I converted when I fifteen and I don't regret it, I finally know I'm loved and cared for. Just talk to him let your heart out. Don't give up. Try and read Psalm 23 it is in the Bible and I assure you that you will feel comforted. I'm praying for you. I know what your going through. Take Care God Bless.

For your know-how, such a lot atheists are not worrying. I additionally DONT WANT to be devout. And actually, i suppose it is worrying that like, the whole thing needs to be god-similar. You can not run for president in the event you are not devout. If you seem into the beyond and spot all of the injustices atheists have confronted, I suppose you can appreciate who is being worrying. I can not even pass see a film with no need a few dude on a soapbox begin preaching approximately how if we do not come to be Christian god will punish us! >:|

If you're thinking about suicide, please discuss it with your doctor, or a mental health professional.
If after that you are still seeking happiness and well-being, then try attending religious services. What do you have to lose, except for a couple of hours a week, and maybe ten dollars for the collection plate.
And please remember, there are lots of different religions and denominations. If you go to a United Methodist church and think it's boring, then consider a Pentecostal church next. If you go to a Catholic Church and think it's too fancy, then consider a Primitive Baptist church.
But first, please seek help for the Suicidal thoughts, okay? Just about every church member that might get to meet you in the next few months will want you to take care of yourself.
