How do they manage to transport all the equipment? I know it is all stored in trucks, but how are the trucks taken from continent to continent? Do they drive or do they go by boat/cargo plane?

They use container ships to get to the far off races, but then aboard large cargo aircraft to get to closer races.

The cars and all equipment is transported to 'flyway' races by plane to the more exotic locations. Once in Europe, the cars are driven by trucks from the factories. They contain every nut, bolt, screw and spanner. The cars have their own trucks, i think its about 2 to a truck.
Credit where its due, McLaren have the most inventive of motorhomes which looks like a Chinese Pagoda and is hard to believe transforms into a truck.
