What can be the reason/s for that? Can that be a sign of illness or depression or what?

If you have been retreating and keeping to yourself whereas you used to be more social, then it is a very simple yes about a bout of depression. You have to identify the source of the depression to be able to deal with it and make things better. If you just don't feel like chatting after a long day or stressful week, that is not a big deal. Everyone gets the blues. If you are neglecting your responsibilities, and sleeping too much and really feeling bad, then you need to go to a doctor and see what steps to take from there. Perhaps counseling. You're eventually going to have to talk to someone, and it's kind of funny because that what you don't want to do : ) Hope this helps.

It can be a sign of just hearing them drone on about the same crap, and just being sick of less intelligent beings.
