Tell him face to face its nice to know someone likes you and see if he acts different about you but do not ask him if he likes you back. if you are a very shy person write him a letter and give it to him at the end of the day so he can read it when you are not around him and then its set and you wait for his reaction.

Just be a lady. Don't be overwhelming like always calling or talking to much. But be a lady. Always look your best and smile. Be soft but not easy. Have fun and laugh. But not goofy. Be feminine. I believe men like women who are feminine and lady like not loud and bossy.

give him special attention, be caring with him, good that you're now friends at least that gives you an advantage.. improve your looks also as boys notices that first.. be sweet to him but not too sweet, if you continue doing that, he'll miss it.. don't act that you like him but just be nice and sweet to him and if he's talking to you look at him straight in his eyes with that "look" but don't act flirty, boys don't like that, just be a natural flirt :-)
