my girlfriend is [currently] 13 years old, 5ft, and 90lbs. i know for a fact she never eats breakfast or lunch. im not sure if she eats dinner or not. but she hasnt always been like this. its been going on for about a month now and she cries daily. i know somethings wrong with her but i dont know how to help. shes been very emotional lately and has missed alot of school. a month ago she was 110lbs. its not like her to stop eating all of the sudden and lose 20lbs in one month. shes obsessed with exercising and i think she overworks herself. she does acting, cheerleading, dance, baton, and gymastics. she does atlest 3 of those everyday and afterwards comes to my house crying her heart out. she just tells me nothings wrong but i can tell shes lying. i dont know what to do. plz help me i dont want her to hurt herself.

yes, it sounds like there is something wrong. She sounds very stressed out and may be handling her stress by losing weight. If she feels like her life is spinning out of control, she will grab something she can control. And she can control how much food goes into her body and how much weight she can lose. If this is her problem, she wont talk to you about it because she may fear what you will think of her. Talk her into going to see her school counselor. They are a great first step. If she wont, then you'll have to go to her parents about it. If she needs help, she wont do it by herself.

It definately sounds like she has something going on. Daily crying is not normal and losing 20 lbs in one month is definately not normal. When you hook it up with an obsession to exercise, you're probably looking at anorexia. Talk with your friend and if you have to, go and talk with her parents. If her parents are not amenable to discussion, then talk to your school nurse. This disease can kill your friend, so be a true friend and do what you can to help her. She needs professional help.

If she doesn't have a disorder of some kind, she's definitely on the way. She needs to talk with her parents or a counselor.

Your girlfriend is 13, wow!!! A little too young to have a boyfriend. Well she needs to go to the doctor because for her to be anorexic or bulemic at this early age it can cause death, etc.
