There is a teacher at a Catholic school who wants her pupils to understand Good Friday. So she said that Jesus died for us. Then one of her students said "Jesus died for Russ. Who's Russ?" Funny, cute, or offensive?

More than likely the child thought she said "died for russ" instead of "died for us". If that's true, it's cute, and the next question was probably "who is russ"? Unless of course the child new someone or some animal named russ.

its not offensive since it has been quoted by a Child, children are symbole of innocence so they should be forgiven for such small incidents and should be taught that it is not right if they have done it intentionally. I would not say it was funny or cute because it hurts to hear things like this.

When she said "Jesus died for us", the kid interpreted it as "Jesus died forus". It's not offensive, he only misinterpreted the phrase. But I can't say whether it was funny or cute, because I'd have to be there to think anything of it.

Cute and funny. Children says the darnest things.

I heard of the little child who was in a church with her mother and the Preacher said " without God we an nothing but dust".. The child asked " What is butt dust? "

Cute. It's just a play on words, and there's no offense intended. Someone would have to be extremely oversensitive to react negatively to that.

Kinda cute, not really funny to me, and in no way offensive, except that to tell kids about someone they don't know "dying for them" is kinda twisted...

If the class is a kindegarten or under 3rd grade it's cute, if it's a grade 4 or up the answer is offensive

No problem with that. It's a kid! Jesus said himself that if you are not as children than you shall not enter the kingdom of Heaven. They have an innocence that adults do not.

I think that's cute and gently funny!

(of course, i'm the one who, as a young child, was offered a cashew and responded with "but we don't even have a cat!")
