A man throws a baseball about fifty feet when it turns around and returns to the man. The man catches it easily. How is this possible?

If the man is a baseball pitcher, then it would appear the ball was hit back to him and he caught it.

He threw it up into the air. It flew up about 50 ft., turned back down and he caught it.
