I started downloading "Quicktime Player" because a news video I wanted to see said I had to have it. I changed my mind and stopped the download. It is not in my add/remove programs and I do not have it on my desktop but there is a Quicktime icon in my taskbar. When I right click to remove it only the exit option and Quicktime Website option is highlighted. Can anyone tell me how to remove this icon from the taskbar and make sure it is not downloaded on my computer?

It is NOT a good idea to interrupt a download.

You should now attempt to complete the download of QUICKTIME and then you would see it come up on add/remove in your control panel.

QUICKTIME is a large program (66 megs) so proceed to upload it and then REMOVE it.

If NONE of these things work go to Google and type in "free regscrub" or just "regscrub".

This is a shareware program that you can try free and if you like it and want to keep it you should pay the shareware owner.

In regscrub if you follow directions carefully you will see that QUICKTIME REMNANT and you can remove it from your registry.

have you restarted your system and then go back in to add and remove

you can go to start run

then to msconfig

then start up

uncheck qtask restart

try looking in your start menu all programs

see if its there
and if theres an uninstall link

or go to my computer

c drive
right click then explore

navigate to the program files

there you should find the quicktime folder

check there to see if there s an uninstaller

then reinstall the program

Quick time is an important pluggin to view different content shown on many websites
