"Te amo bebé" would be used mostly if you're actually referring to a baby. The term of endearment "baby" is not that common in Spanish, but "corazoncito" (little heart), "cariño" (dear), or "mamita/papito" (Mommy/Daddy, talk about Freudian issues!) are.

How about
Te amo(quiero,adoro) chulito?
Baby is a term of endearment here.
It doesn't mean a baby(literally).

Te amo, niño [boy]
Colloquially speaking, that is. Because the Spanish use "little" or "small" for the young, not baby.
So, It would be "Te amo, niña Maria" or "Te amo, niño Mario"; which would be further abbreviated as " Te amo, Mariña!" or "Te amo, Mariño"

but we dont say that unless the other person is your boyfriend or girlfriend for a long time
we dont use "baby" as you do

TE QUIERO BEBE (Baby Boy) some places they call BEBA to the Baby Girls, but BEBE for both sounds better and more proper!
