Other than taking a dog to the vet, is there any other way to tell if she's pregnant?

Was this a planned pregnancy? If so, the best time for her to get pregnant is 12-14 day's after she starts bleeding. then it's usally 57 to 63 days later she has babies. Here's a site I LOVE, but you'll need to log in to ask your question. It's called Practical pet care

We just went through this. The gestation period for a dog is only 3 months. At around 2 months you should start feeling them move around. You'll start to notice her "bottles" becoming swollen. Thats how we knew for sure, Then we took her to the vet.

I wanted to tell you to let nature take its course. I know you want to know if your dog is going to have puppies I was the same way when my dog first was matted. Unless your dog is in trouble just wait it out. Some show early some don't show , like mine , until a week before giving birth. I wanted to tell you a story about my first time. I wanted to know just like you did, I took her to the vet and had blood work done on her to see if she was going to have puppies, I put my dog in so much stress that she absorb her puppies. I was heart broken I did that to my dog. Never again will I let anyone do x-rays blood work on my dogs to see if they are having puppies. So unless you feel you dog is in trouble or if you think she is way over due, just let nature take its course. You will know in due time. For example her change in personality..Mine craves ice cubes. You will know your dog so you will know the change in her.

Any extension or swelling of the nipples, or tightening of the belly skin will be sure signs.
