what does it mean when you ask a guy whether he likes a girl after being told that she likes him, he says 'i really don't know?'
he compliments her and always says hey to her with a big smile and a how are you
could it mean that he really doesn't know or he does like her but just doesn't want to admit it?
he already knows that she likes him

He probably likes her now. He enjoys flirting with her and he likes the fact that she likes him. However, he knows that if he admits to liking her after knowing she already likes him, she will probably expect to jump into a relationship, and he may have doubts about an actual relationship working between them... and for whatever reason, he's not ready for a relationship yet.
Or maybe he really doesn't like her that way AT ALL and instead of saying "no" and hurting her feelings, he says "I really don't know".

he really does don't know. he's not sure if he really likes the girl or he's just so nice and goody to greet the girl with a big smile... OR!!!! he just want to flirt with that girl.. 3 options to choose!! betcha! ;)

I'D BE CAREFUL TOO. IN THIS DAY AND TIME WITH THE DISEASES THE DAY OF RUNNING IN AN OUT OF REALTIONS IS A NO-NO. BE GLAD HE'S TAKING IT SLOW.
