It can take around 4 months provided you let him out often and create some kind of code he can use to signal to go out like a bell on the door or he knows to bark

Generally from what I've read the puppy can "hold it" an hour for evert month after the 3rd month old. So 5 months 5 hours...and so forth. With my Husky it seems to be true. But all puppys have accidents !!

My German Sherpherd pup was trained at 10 weeks - I got her at 8 weeks. I had to take her out about every two hours - even at night. She continued to tinkle when greeting people - submissive urination.

Its important to clean up after any slips with a strong disinfectant. That way he/she won't think its a place to use again.
