I bought her canned food and she eats it. she is weak still and clumbsy with her hide legs, she still has discharge from her eyes, but she still want to play and run around. she is having bowel movements that are solid and this morning when I feed her and took her out to go, I inspected her business and noticed that there were rice like particles in her feces I wormed her two days ago, I have been giving her poppy vitamins shold I stop til she is better? how long will it take for her to get better? She has lost weight and i am force watering HELP!!!!

My first question would be - why hasn't she seen a vet? If you dewormed her w/ over the counter medication there could be a chance that you may have poisoned her. Over the counter dewormers, or flea/tick meds are not healthy for puppies or dogs.

Canned food can cause rot and decay with their teeth. You should refrain from giving canned food unless it's a special occasion. If she won't eat her dry food here are a few things you can try since it may be to hard for her baby teeth -

1. Feed the puppy on a schedule. For a pup that young it should be 3-4 times a day. Leave the food down for 10-15 minutes then pick the food back up regardless if the dog has eaten. This will not only help to establish pack hierarchy but it will help with potty training and weight control.

2. To encourage your pup to eat you can either put water on the food or chicken/beef broth (which is all natural) on the food and put it in the microwave.

It softens the food and brings out the aroma and makes the food more alluring. Hard food helps to clean their teeth and keeps tarter at bay so less cavities and less decay.

3. Make sure you're feeding a premium dog food. The protein in the food shouldn't say by products after it. By products consist of heads, feet, feathers, or even cancerous tissue. And make sure there is no corn. Corn is very hard to digest. Try for foods that are all nutural - Nutro products, Royal Canin, Inova are a few examples.

4. Take your dog to the vet. Check the pup a full health exam, all the shots, fecal check (to see what the little white rice worms are - which sounds like they are round worms). If they are being passed then the worming treatment may have worked. It could have been to strong for the pup however.

Anyhow... GOOD LUCK with your new baby.

the rice like particles in her stool are worms. You need to get her to the vet for an exam. There is something else going on besides the worms as worms do not cause a puppy to have discharge from the eyes. Keep her hydrated. Puppies that young can dehydrate very quickly.

Really, the "breeder" that you got the pup from should keep it until it's at least eight weeks old. No reputable person would let a pup go at this young age, even if it's mom died. Talk to your VET about your concerns.

you might want her to go to the vet...
i have a pit bull and he does find
but i dont feed him rice or the vitamins
soo dont feed him then
or even if he feels better....
my dog Buddy wasnt playful when i got him....
but, now he is....
he run if u clap your hands and bend down....
you should try that
if that doesnt work...
i dont really got anything else or try to run around the house....my dog live inside but, when he gets older we will soon let him live outside...

TAKE HIM TO THE VET. But again it's a pit bull, who cares.
