Hello,

I have been dating a guy for the past few months and I asked him where our relationship stands because I like him. He told me that he likes me too but he is not interested in a committed relationship at the time because of time constraints and past relationship. He would like to be friends. I said OK but I will be dating other people because I want to be in a long term relationship. He said that he is fine with me dating other people. Well, I started to think about it and I really do not want to be with a guy who do not want to be in a committed relationship and do not mind me dating other people. Do you guys agree? Also, do you think that I should send an email on how I feel or should I just leave it open?

Let him go. It seems that he's just making excuses. People will find time to spend with the ones they care about regardless of time constraints. If he using the past relationship card, he's got his own issues to work out. Leave before you get caught in his cycle. I would send him an email and tell him how you feel.

I agree with you. You should just tell him it's not gonna work out. If he has no plans in the soon future to be in a committed relationship it is not gonna work out. You need to find someone who wants that type of relationship and him hanging around isn't doing any good. Once you've found someone than what is his role? You just need to tell him that you seem to have very little interest in pursuing this relationship any furthur and that it bothers you he is that way so you both just have to go your seperate ways.

First you should ask him if he plans to date other people as well. Just because he doesn't want to commit (he is scared of getting hurt again) does not mean he wants to see other people. You have to show him that he can trust you. You won't do that by dating others. He will think you are like everyone else that hurt him. You have to show him that it's him you want, not anyone else. Do you really want him? Do you really want to see someone else? Are you just wanting to be committed? You can commit to this guy and just because he doesn't say it doesn't mean he isn't doing it.

You are pushing if you send the email, and some people do not like to be pushed. This will sound like an ultimatum to him, and he will not like it. This may be why he is not interested in a relationship with. He can sense something about you he doesn't think he would like about you as a girlfriend.
