new lcd tv doesnt pick up signel from my dvd player when using Component cables. Its works with s -video and normal video input but not with the cc? i have tried 2 dvd players (both cheapish ones) but still it should work?

any ideas?

It may be a problem with the DVD players; maybe you need to manually switch between component and composite/s-video out.

Since composite video works, go to the DVD-player's setup menu, go under picture setup, and see if there is a special option to output via component.

Also make sure you DON'T connect at the same time both component and composite/s-video. Most DVD players have only one set of video DACs so they can output either composite/s-video or component.

That's odd. If you matched the colors, red to red, green to green, and blue to blue, it should work. If there is more than one component input on the TV, try another one.

One remote possibility is this... Component and RGB signals can use the same cables and input jacks. While most newer TVs are able to differentiate between the two signals and can automatically switch from component to RGB and back, your TV may not be able to. If that is the case, try looking in the manual or the menu under input selection for a signal type option. If the input you are using is set to RGB instead of component, that might explain it.
