Why is it that the western world sees muslims as terrorists just because of a few terrorists.?

WHY DO PEOPLE JUDGE A NATION BY ITS PEOPLE AND NOT BY WHAT THE RELEGION REALLY TEACHES

ur r very rite! this world today is judging muslims to be terrorists whereas the truth tends to be really diferent! it is because of the viloence done by those terrorists and so people tensd to take all muslims in one categry f terrorists, but i personally wud say that this is not a gud reason to say so coz they shud be judging us by our morals and that which our religions asks us ot do! i possitively agree with u! and this question shud be put under CONCIDERATION! by all! so that the TRUTH is heard by all!

Look the Muslims have a huge problem with the radical side right now. There are hundreds of thousands at Hamas rallies, not a few. There are large crowds in the streets of Iran after Friday prayers EVERY week saying they want to kill westerners. I could go on and on. You can deny that fact all day, but these guys are going to start WWIII if the moderate side doesn't do something to stop them. I am not the one that says it is about Islam, they are. I just don't see any reason to not believe them.

I have only seen two Muslims that regularly speak out against it, and they both live behind bullet proof glass. You need to look at what is really happening and stop blaming those who notice. What have you done today to stop terrorism?

If Islam really teaches peace, then none of you muslims are following your own religion. You muslims always say, "its just the "radical extremists" who are the terrorists, not the regular "moderates". But it is you "regular people moderates" that let the terrorists go on operating and blowing things up, and killing people. They could not get away with it without the tacit approval of all you so called "moderates". I remember all of the "moderates" in the islamic world dancing in the streets (from all muslim countries) when the twin towers fell. The truth is, if the common everyday muslim wanted to stop the radicals, they could very easy. But they dont. Why? Because obviously they agree with their goal. And the goal is to make the whole world muslim. So dont just say its all the fault of "a few terrorists". The truth is that most of the islamic world approves of what they are doing. So, in short, either your religion DOESNT teach peace, or NONE of you folks are following your own religion. If you truely were, ALL of the terrorism would stop....theBerean

I understand that not everyone in Islam agrees with the major Islamic nations, but I think it's pretty understandable that people have the wrong idea. Think about what we see on TV: terrorist attacks consistently from Muslims around the world and whole nations of Muslims who cheer in the streets when innocent "infidels" are killed mercilessly. Their nations and leaders support the hostility against other Western nations. I know that doesn't represent all of Islam. PLUS, you have millions and millions of muslims who say that YOU don't know what it teaches. They say that you have it wrong: that there is to be jihad against the West. So, who should I believe? Some guy on Yahoo Answers or millions of angry muslims around the world? I think if you're honest with yourself, you know why people have the wrong idea.

some of it comes form not knowing muslims personally....I think most people realize the majority of Muslims are not terrorist but people are a little taken back to hear of Muslims describe themselves as "house of peace" and others as "house of war" when other religions, like Christianity would do deeds of mercy to places like Indonesia suffering from Tsunami or whatever misfortunes might befall them

on the other hand, it confuses people to see how Al Jezeera portrays news and doesn't seem to speak up for justice in ways they might expect. It also confuses people to hear somewhat lopsided values, like when the Taliban said they didnt mind growing opium fieds because only non moslems would be hurt and they could raise money. It also confuses people when they hear most moslems believe 911 was a conspiracy or Osama had nothing to do with it... it doesnt lend itself to a positive view

Because a few bad apples have spoiled the whole bunch. All of the terriorists who have been identified or captured/killed are Muslims. There is no outcry within the Muslim community in the US to condemn this terrorism; and the deafening silence indicates complicity to many people.

They believe what they see and all they see on the media is suicide bombers and radicals so they form their opinion on that. Africans have the same problem of being stereotyped, if someone said african to you, you would think of a destitute person scaping about in the dust waiting to die or for food aid right? Yet I'm an african proffessional, one of millions, I work hard, live a relatively comforable life but remain essentially invisible to the western media. I think its this way because it makes them feel better. My tip: stop watching CNN, try al jazeera, your people will be shown in a more balanced light.

Easy answer. The US, a capitalist nation than once treated blacks as dogs in the "spirit" of making money, is based on nothing more than a selfish need to beat out your neighbor. In doing so, Americans (I am American) annihilate anything in their path, even commit unlawful acts they can get away with. Now, during this competition, rat race, they must judge the performance of others.. Hence Americans are always, always, constantly, non-stop, absolutely always judging those around them. Since judging is difficult (the human mind is a challenge indeed!), these American fools take shortcuts, so they judge by the size of your ___, the color of your skin, your religion, the people you associate with, etc... So most Americans rather than embarking in the difficult but noble and wise task of getting to know people for who they are, they (Americans) opt for making stereotypes that make making money easier.

It's all capitalism.. Blacks were a victim, they continue to be victims, and now Muslims too.

Excuse me, but I was watching a piece on The National about how they subjugate thier women. They are terrorists within their own homes! Domestic violence rarely makes the headline news, not even in canada. Why are men so afraid to let their women speak? I wonder what those women would tell us if they were allowed to speak freely.

People always generalize, mostly to ignorant to figure things out or see the truth. If the Muslims as a whole hated us, we would be facing about 1.3 billion of them right now.
