This guy and I are friends..but he always asked me when he comes on IM where are you...I hate it! We are both in Asia and he is doing his mandatory military service..anyway I told I was planning to return home to the US. He is a nice guy and we are in a little mess now...long story but would you get mad if someone always asks you that stupid question Where are you? He even told me he could never get angry at me and I think that is stupid too would you believe him?

He asked 'where are u?' cuz he's not sure where u are, n he cares. Its the only way to start a conversation. Like chinese, we always ask ppl, "have u eaten?" CUz its the start of a conversation.
He cares about u..thats the point..
or he loves u...thats y he doesn't wanna get angry at u for a small reason. I think his a fine guy...caring. But it's up to u..if u kno how to cherish a loving guy. Good luck!

You shouldn't let it bother you when he asked where are you. But if it bothers you this much A). Make up a tall tale like you are in the middle of the street in your birthday suit quacking like a duck! or B). Tell him it bothers you when he always ask you this.
Everyone gets angry but it is how he would deal with his anger. Do something to perturb him and see how he reacts
